Good Day, Good Weekend, Goodwill!

It has been a good day and weekend. Work hasn't been all that bad, and today was not so bad either. My very favorite patient has a big surprise for her when I get to work tomorrow. I am so tired of her being the only resident still wearing short sleeve shirts and capris, so I went to Goodwill today to by her some new outfits. I had so much fun picking her out new stuff because she doesn't ever have any family that comes to visit her so she never gets new stuff. She wears the same yucky shirts everyday. For some reason, her dementia causes her to pick sores on her arms and she doesn't have any long sleeve shirts to cover them up to keep her from picking. So, needless to say she has a bunch of new long sleeve clothes for the winter. She got 4 new jackets, 4 new sweaters, 8 new long sleeve shirts, and 4 new pairs of pants! $65 well spent! Dylan asked "What if she doesn't like some of her new stuff?" but I had to explain to him that she will never have any idea that she is wearing new clothes. Whether she knows it or not she needed them and deserves them. Today she hugged her arms around me and told me I was a good woman and she loves me so much. Makes my heart smile. :)
