Sunday at work I was truly touched. I never work in the front dining room at work. Usually that is the job of our nurses and our restorative nurse, but Sunday I had to take a resident up front that was late getting too lunch. While I was helping her to her seat another resident asked our new resident if she wanted to say the blessing. I stopped to hear her answer because I know very little about her, much less her faith. She replied that she would love to and asked us all to bow our heads. I bowed my head along with everyone else in the dining room but I kept my eyes on her. She was the only one who neither closed her eyes or bow her head... there was no need. She is completely and entirely blind. I listened to her thank God for the food and the nourishment, but then she thanked God for something else... She thanked God for her wonderful life and all of the wonderful people in it. She then thanked Him for the wonderful staff and all of the people who she had become acquainted with in her short time there. She was thankful for many things in her life yet she can't even see any of the things that she is so thankful for. That is truly blind faith. She knows the power of God's work although she cannot really experience most of the things He blesses her with. I wish that I had half the faith that she does. She truly melted my heart.
Well, I got my money back! It is pending deposit into my account. I should be back in business by tomorrow morning. Thank goodness! I plan on getting my paycheck tomorrow then heading to Sulphur Springs to get my World Series t-shirt and to go shopping for some Hope Chest stuff. It ought to be fun! I told mom all of the stuff that I want today. I want a big huge mixing bowl like she has. I want one of those big mixers that you can put your bowl under and it mixes it for you. I want a big nice blender. I want some good spatulas, scoops, etc. I better keep saving my money :)
