So, most people right now would be talking about the struggles of settling in to college life, being homesick, having a hard time making friends, the list goes on… I am so happy to feel like I have finally found my place. Of course I miss home every now and then, especially when nobody is home and I am in this big suite all by myself. I just think of what I would be doing back home… terrorizing mom, scheming up things with Paul, and of course playing with my lovely kitty, Kitty. I usually get over it and move on to the next thing in my big college life schedule.
I know I have not updated in a while so here is a short summary of how my job search has gone. I applied online to 9 different Chili's positions and I am being considered for 3 of them which is pretty great since I have absolutely no experience in waitressing. I attended a job fair this week which was strictly for jobs pertaining to events at UTA. I would be working at volleyball and basketball games, concerts, conferences, theatrical productions, comedians, any thing that consists of entertainment here at UTA. This job would be AMAZING. I was the first person to show up to the job fair and just about the only person who actually dressed up nice and brought a resume. I felt so confident walking up in there. I spoke with the man over the job fair and he LOVED me. I was the only person there he gave his card to, so that I could be in contact with him. I sent him an email that night when I got home thanking him for taking time to host the job fair and it was good meeting him and a few other nice things. He responded back to my email saying he was so glad I came to the job fair and it was nice meeting me. He then said he would be contacting me soon to schedule 1 on 1 interviews. I was so excited when I read that. So, I should be hearing about an interview time soon for that.
Then today while I was home Faith text me and asked me my school schedule for tomorrow which was completely random so then when we went to lunch she told me that she had an interview at Davids Bridal tomorrow and that they told her to bring someone with her who would be interested in working there to the interview and we could all do a group interview. She said that when she talked to them they were also veryyyy flexible with hours and would be easy to work around our school schedule with. So, we are going out tonight to buy slacks and dress clothes to look all spiffy for our interview tomorrow. Our interview is at 4:30. That is a pretty good friend to consider me out of all of the people she could have brought to the interview. Especially since she is from the Dallas area and knows a few other people that goes to UTA.
I know for a fact God brought her into my life. It is a good thing knowing God and having Him on your side. God answers prayers.
