God Answers Prayers

I'm going to make a long story short because I am super tired tonight:

So, I was told that I was going to get a $.50 raise when I got my CNA license... got my license, no raise. I was then told I was go going to get my raise after 90 days... 90 days were up November 1st, still no raise. I have been on my boss about getting my raise because I don't want her to think that is just okay to not give me my raise because it certainly isn't. Well, I talked to her Wednesday AGAIN and she then tells me 1) I don't have anyone to change your info in the system 2) I don't know when I will be able to give you your raise 3) The company doesn't want me to give you a raise so I do not even know how I will be able to give it to you. Needless to say I left PISSED. That is a little ridiculous. So, I am a CERTIFIED Nurse Aide making $8 an hour which is not okay anyways, but was going to have to be okay because I just loved my job and I going to make it work. Well, after that day I had my mind set that I was going to start looking for a new job, and today after the day from hell at work... I went to a nearby nursing home and put in my application and within five minutes I was already taking my drug test and figuring out my new schedule! If I work the 6-2 shift I will make $9/hour and if I work the 2-10 shift I will make $9.50/hour. So, everything worked out just absolutely perfect. It probably didn't hurt that Paul knows the new D.O.N of the nursing home. So, as of Wednesday when I work again I will be putting in my two weeks notice. The only one regret I have about leaving this place is leaving the people that I truly do love... few of the nurses, aides, laundry, maintenance, and especially my residents. But, mom reminded me that all I have to do is go visit which is what I would rather do anyway :) I am going to miss my Mary though!

I realize this story probably has a lot of holes but all you need to know is... I got screwed out of a $.50 raise, applied at another nursing home, got the job within a few minutes, start orientation in two weeks, and am not going to be making AT  LEAST a $1.00 more an hour. I am one happy camper. Goodnight!
