Two Down- One To Go

Day two of clinic was not near as fun as day one, mainly because we got off to a late start. We had a new instructor come in today and she was two and a half hours late. So needless to say, all of us who had been there since six were pissed. Me and one of my new friends from class plopped ourselves on the couch and took us a nap. We aren't allowed to start doing anything unless our supervisor is there so we just sat and waited. Once we finally got started we had missed all of a.m. care and breakfast and snack time and there was just about nothing for us to do. Also needless to say, none of us had really anything productive to do until right before lunch. I hated feeding them lunch yesterday... well not hated but it definitely wasn't my favorite. Today though, despite a melt down from my resident, I really enjoyed it. I kinda had to put myself in her shoes and realize that once again... I was doing something that she has always done for herself and no longer can. Sad. I am already so attached to so many of my residents. It is going to be hard tomorrow knowing I probably won't see any of them again. They have really touched my heart. On a lighter note, I taught mom and Paul how to do peri care on a male. That was scary. I didn't think Paul could handle much more learning on that subject. He asks mom what they got themselves into. Really, what have you gotten yourselves into? :)

Usually if me or mom goes shopping we always bring Paul back a "surprise." We do it just like he is a little kid. We put our hands behind our backs and make him choose a hand, which of course is always the hand with the prize (go figure). Anyways, today he came home and I immediately gave him his surprise. This is what he got...

He wasn't too impressed with this one. Luckily it was just a warning. I have been pulled over three times. Two times I have only received a verbal warning and this is my first legitimate paper warning. I was terrified. However, I have been asked to step out of the car 2 of the 3 times. Yay me! :( Yes, today was one of those days. My car read 106 when he had me stand outside in my thick hot scrubs after I have been up since 3:30. I was not a happy camper. I had been following the man for a least five minutes when he decides to be nice and pull over and park- then immediately flip on his lights. Ass! :) Oh well, I guess he wasn't that bad since it was only a warning- from a state trooper I might add. It doesn't even say the speed I was going on the warning, but don't worry Pam- it wasn't 106! :)

  1. Good to hear on the 106 part! Hey...he forgot to put your height on there. You must have been melting in the scrubs. Be careful girly, those resident need you and You need to keep learning how to keep Paul clean one day when he's old and gray! Love you, Aunt Pam
